In the run up to the past few
Christmas’s, the church has put together Christmas hampers. The people
in the church and a few local businesses also support us very generously
to donate Christmas “goodies” – puddings, chocolate biscuits, selection
boxes, dates etc – and these are then put together in festive packages,
and given away to local people who, for one reason or another, have had a
tough year.
The hampers always seem to
be well received – we have had people break down in tears on their
doorsteps!! Last year we managed to give away about 30 hampers, but the
church has grown over the last few months, so who knows how many we can
give away this Christmas?
