Every Thursday night all the
chairs, the musical instruments etc are cleared out of the church
building, and are replaced with a quality pool table, a table tennis
table, a play-station and various other bits and pieces, and the doors are
opened to any young person aged between 14 & 17.
It might sound a bit basic
for the hi-tech age that we live in, but a good number of young people
come – glad, I suppose – for somewhere to go, and something to do that
doesn’t cost them any money.
One highlight is most
definitely the pool competitions. The prize is only a bag of sweets that
cost less than £1, but competition is fierce, and no mercy is shown!
Pride (often male) is at stake!!
